Roland RS-101

Released in 1975

The RS-101 is a 61-note paraphonic string machine. RS stands for Roland Strings - it was the company's first string machine - and it offers three sound presets: Strings I, Strings II (the same but an octave higher), and Brass. A BBD-based chorus circuit gives the simple voices a much fuller sound.
