The Alesis DataDisk is a stand-alone storage unit that allows for MIDI SysEx data transfers to and from the DataDisk, with that file data saved to floppy disk. It requires no computer for file transfers, and the DataDisk doesn't care what gear is sending the data, as long as it is in a MIDI SysEx format.
