Akai MPC2000

Released in 1997

The Akai MPC2000 was designed to be the center piece of a MIDI-oriented production studio. It is a 32-voice 16-bit sampler/sequencer featuring 16 velocity sensitive rubber pads. Sample memory is 2MB stock, expandable to 32MB. With 64 tracks, stereo sampling, a digital filter, and classic MPC swing, it's no wonder the MPC2000 became a staple of so many genres.
