Roland MC-8 MicroComposer

Released in 1977

The MC-8 MicroComposer was Roland's first microprocessor-driven sequencer, and it was designed to drive modular systems like Roland's System 700 and System 100M via CV and gate signals - it could even be used to control lighting during live performances. Priced at $4800, it was very expensive, and only about 200 MC-8's were sold.
