Roland Jupiter-6

Released in 1983

The Jupiter-6 is a magnificent polysynth that has its own unique sound. It is a six-voice analog powerhouse, with two oscillators per voice. The VCO's allow you to select multiple waveforms at once, for more complex timbres. The resonant multi-mode filter includes band-pass, low-pass, and high-pass in both 4-pole and 2-pole configurations. The LFO section includes 4 different wave shapes, two programs can be split across the keybed. and program memory can store up to 32 patches. It was one of the very first synths to include MIDI - and consequently, its MIDI implementation is somewhat rudimentary.
