E-mu's Proteus units are 32-Voice 16-bit sound modules housed in a single rack-mount space, each offering 4 Meg of sampled sounds. The Proteus 1 offered Pop/Rock sounds, like pianos, horns, percussion, etc. The Proteus 2 came loaded with Orchestral samples, and the Proteus 3 focused on ethnic World instruments.
